We’re thrilled to be celebrating Belle River’s best weekend with a variety of awesome rides for all ages to enjoy all weekend long, and yes, you can’t have a carnival without cotton candy!

There will be lots of games, food, and fun for everyone.

Sunsplash Parade

We are honoured to host the Belle River – On the Lake BIA Sunsplash Parade in loving memory of Ethan “Bubba”.

Ethan’s family and friends hope that this event offers an opportunity for the community to stay present, in the moment, and to enjoy the company of loved ones every day and in times of special celebrations.

Registration is due by Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 4:00pm.

Please note that the Parade Route and other Information will be sent to registrants by Thursday, July 13th, 2023.

As always, the parade will begin promptly at 10:00am, and will flow down Notre Dame Street. This year, the parade will start and end at Belle River Public School at 370 St Peter Street, Belle River, ON.

Parade participants may begin arriving at 8:30am and are asked to arrive no later than 9:30am to give time for staging. However, please keep an eye on an inbox for detailed instructions for the morning of, and confirming receipt of your registration.

Sunsplash Idol Talent Show

Thursday, July 13 from 7:00pm – 8:00pm at the Amphitheatre

Contestants under 18 years must have a legal guardians’ permission to participate. Unfortunately persons who are paid entertainers or belong to any professional organization connected with the entertainment industry are not eligible to participate.

Each contestant shall be judged by the following categories:

  1. Singing ability (vocal quality)
  2. Voice control
  3. Appearance
  4. Stage presence
  5. Knowledge of song
  6. Judges’ overall impression

Sunsplash Kids Fishing Derby

Children Ages 2 to 14 years welcome!

Registration check in is from 7:30am – 8:30am only. Please check in under the big tent in the Lakeview Park when you arrive. We will have fresh worms for you, but remember to bring your rod and a bucket for your fish. *You must register to win.

Catch & Release: As soon as you catch your biggest fish hurry to one of the three Fish Measuring Stations to get it measured by one of our volunteers. No fish are measured before 8:00am. The Derby ends at 10:00am, so you must have your biggest fish measured by 10:00am.

  • Gobies – Do not put back in the water – bring it to a Volunteer to take care of. Please do not leave the gobies on the ground.
  • No fishing on the rocks by the lighthouse, in a boat, or anywhere inside the marina basin.
  • All participants of the fishing derby must be accompanied by an adult as Belle River – On the Lake BIA and volunteers CANNOT be responsible for children.

Biggest Fish Prizes: Biggest Fish Prizes will be awarded as soon as possible after 10:00am.

Prizes: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be awarded for each age category 2-6, 7-10 and 11-14.

The zoo is coming to you at Sunsplash!

Come on out for a fun and interactive experience with up to 30 wild and exotic animals to see and learn about. Each show will last about 40 minutes to an hour in length. Viewers may have the opportunity to hold and take photos with some of the animals.

The Hospice Rubber Duck Race

Saturday, July 15 from 12:00pm – 1:00pm.

Help us make a splash for Hospice!

At this fun-filled event, 4,000 rubber ducks will splash into the water at Lakeview Park in Belle River, competing to be the first duck to float across the finish line.

Dive into the fun and purchase your very own duck for a chance to win over $1,500 in cash prizes. Bring your friends and family to witness the action on Saturday, July 15th, 2023 during the Belle River Sunsplash Weekend.

All proceeds from this event will directly support care for Hospice patients and families across Windsor-Essex. Help us make a splash for Hospice!

If you still do not get into the event you want, don’t worry, we will be running Sit-and-Go’s all weekend long. A Sit-and-Go is a quick double knockout event. They are $10 and you can play in as many as you’d like. We will be running Sit-and-Go’s on the hour, or as soon as 16 people register.
